The
technopole boasts 40% of Lyon's scientific potential. It offers access to qualified
staff and a network of experts in science and technology. La Doua has developed
numerous relations with research centres and specialised training organisations
in France and abroad.
A
technopole building up on multidisciplinarity and variety
All
scientific fields of study whether fundamental or applied are present on the la
Doua Science Park. Nine major sectors can be defined :
Such
a variety of competences has enabled multidisciplinary approaches in numerous
areas : biocomputing for gene mapping, environment, materials, electronic document,...
The la
Doua Science Park has thus become a leading higher education and research pole
for collaboration with industries with some contracts worth € 31million signed
in 2004 by Representatives in charge of promoting
research. This applied research pole offers high performances thanks to the
many skills in fundamental research it can draw on.
La
Doua-based companies :
50
high-tech and innovative companies have set up on the la Doua Science Park. They
employ 700 staff and most of them have close links with local research labs.
The
la Doua technopole is located in an area of Villeurbanne with a particularly dynamic
economy. 1,122 businesses are located there. 34% of them, that is 381, have a
strong high-tech potential, invest in and draw on innovation. Most of them either
offer services or advice (consultancy, engineering companies...), develop software,
or are related to research and development. Half of them export their production.
Public
transport and living environment :
The
la Doua Science Park is located on the fringe of Lyon and Villeurbanne on a green
belt (Tête d'Or Park, la Feyssine environmental protection zone) with a great
international opening (International Centre, Interpol Headquarters). La Doua is
a node in a dense communication network (Highways to Paris, Geneva, Grenoble,
